The Meta Foundation presents its annual Harvest Moon Gala to celebrate achievements and raise funds for children, youth and adult services
Toronto, October 19, 2009 – This year an exciting and rich marketplace offering exclusive products will complement the traditional live auction to raise funds during the 2009 Harvest Moon Gala. Guests also have a chance to win the Grand Prize Draw – a two-year lease of a 2010 Ford automobile.
This year’s Gala will feature a special memorial presentation to honour the many achievements and tireless dedication of Mimma Regina, late founding Executive Director of the Meta Centre.
“Mimma was the driving force for the Foundation and the developmental services community,” says Lu Galasso, Meta Foundation Board of Directors President . “Her determination to help people with special needs achieve a better life will continue guiding our efforts. We count on the community to help the Meta Foundation raise the much-needed funds that will ensure the continuity and growth of the support services she worked so hard to nurture. ”

4 pm-10 pm – marketplace
4 pm-5:30 pm – cocktails and antipasto bar
5:30 pm – tribute to Mimma Regina
performance by Meta Centre participants; performance by 2009 Juno Award winner, Humble
6:30 pm – live auction and dinner. Funds raised during the 2009 Harvest Moon Gala will go towards supporting and expanding the services provided by the Meta Centre at the Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Toronto and Scarborough locations.
The event is being hosted by the ZZEN Group of Companies.

The Meta Centre was founded in 1986 and has since grown to provide services including four day programs and l 16 residences located in Toronto, Scarborough, Richmond Hill and Vaughan.
The Meta Centre helps more than 500 children, youths and adults with special needs by providing services tailored to meet individual needs and choices. We also provide services to individuals who have autism and/or multiple disabilities. We strive to achieve an environment that respects individuality and maximizes decision-making.
